Every day is a gift from God.

God alone teaches us to number our days, so that the lives we live count for our good and for God’s glory — so that our lives account for all with which we have been entrusted.

We have been planted and placed in our families, communities, workplaces, and nations, to discover and employ our unique gifts and skill sets in ways orchestrated solely by God, as He marked out our appointed lifetimes.

For sure, the gifts and abilities with which we have been endowed are components of God’s intentional and created plans and assignments for our appointed times in human history.

Whether we acknowledge it or not, our days are numbered, appointed by God, with particular purposes in mind, when He placed us all in time and space.

As such, our task is to make every day count for something good, righteous, or generous.

Whether that is as simple as a smile, a kind word, or helping hand.

“… and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.” (Acts 17:26, NIV)
